Youth Adults Fellowship

The Young Adults’ Fellowship (YAF) is a generational ministry within the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG), established to engage and support members aged 30 to 40. It was officially inaugurated in 2007 following a decision at the 2005 General Assembly held at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology in the Asante Presbytery. This initiative aimed to bridge the gap between the church’s youth and adult ministries and to align the age brackets with international standards .

Purpose and Activities

YAF serves as a platform for young adults to deepen their faith, develop leadership skills, and actively participate in church life. Its objectives include:

Attracting and retaining young adults within the church community.

  • Preparing members for adult responsibilities in both church and society.
  • Training effective leaders to support the church’s mission

Activities organized by YAF chapters encompass Bible studies, prayer meetings, evangelism, community service, and social events. For instance, the Holy Hill Young Adults Fellowship in California conducts monthly meetings focused on spiritual growth and community involvement . Similarly, the Trinity Presbyterian Church’s YAF engages in Bible study, prayer, and song ministration .

National Structure and Events

YAF operates under a national framework with elected officers who coordinate activities across various congregations. In 2022, the fellowship inducted a nine-member National Executive Committee during its Evangelism Week, which focused on the theme “Jesus Christ, The Light of The World Radiating The Light Through Evangelism”.

Motto and Identity

The fellowship’s motto, drawn from Colossians 1:27, is:

“Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

This encapsulates YAF’s commitment to fostering a Christ-centered community among young adults.
